Endurance Fitness Testing
- Esport Arena
Endurance fitness, along with muscular strength, forms the foundation of your health. Poor endurance fitness increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, while good endurance fitness has been shown to protect against various illnesses and even enhance learning. When your endurance fitness is at an adequate level, you recover better, and you have plenty of energy for daily life.
Assessing your endurance fitness benefits you in many ways. These tests provide a reliable measure of your current endurance fitness level. Based on this assessment, our testers can give you precise guidance on how to optimize your training for improved fitness. Tailoring your training to your specific fitness level ensures progress and adequate recovery, reducing the risk of overuse injuries. By regularly testing your fitness, you can also tangibly observe how your fitness has improved as a result of your training.
At Esport’s fitness testing station, you can choose from three different endurance fitness tests that suit you best: endurance fitness test on a cycle ergometer (bike ergometer test), the UKK 2-kilometer walk test, or the Cooper Test. Below, you’ll find more detailed information about the content of these tests and their suitability for you.
Endurance Fitness Testing on a Cycle Ergometer
The bike ergometer test conducted at Esport’s fitness testing station is the most commonly used fitness test for assessing cardiovascular fitness, which is also known as endurance fitness. The test is submaximal, meaning that you do not need to pedal to exhaustion during the test.
Here’s an overview of the process:
- Pre-Test: Before the test, you will complete a fitness questionnaire to provide information about your exercise and health history.
- Test Procedure: During the test, you will pedal on a stationary bike, and the resistance will gradually increase. The goal is to measure your endurance capacity without reaching exhaustion.
- Feedback and Guidance: After the test, you will receive feedback and exercise recommendations based on your performance.
The test can accommodate a maximum of eight participants at a time.
Test Price: 80 €

UKK Walking Test
The UKK Walking Test assesses cardiovascular performance. The test is conducted for a minimum of five (5) individuals at a time and takes place on the indoor running track at Esport Arena. Based on the test results, each participant receives a written assessment of their fitness compared to individuals of the same age.
Test Price: 30 € per person (minimum of 5 participants)

The Cooper Test
The Cooper Test is a classic fitness test in which you run for as long as possible within a 12-minute time frame. In addition to the distance covered in 12 minutes, the test takes into account the participant’s age and gender.
This test is one of the most well-known assessments for evaluating cardiovascular fitness. It is best suited for individuals who engage in regular, moderately intense aerobic exercise (at least 2-3 times per week). If you have had a break from exercise or have not been engaging in aerobic exercise recently, we recommend considering our cycle ergometer test or the UKK Walking Test as alternatives to the Cooper Test.
Test Price: 30 € per person (minimum of 5 participants)
